The XJRacing class has been created to foster friendly but close rivalry in a one-make classic saloon series. The car chosen for this class is the XJ6 saloon manufactured between 1968 and 1986 and fitted with the Jaguar XK 4.2 litre engine. The class allows cars to be modified according to strict rules but encourages drivers with standard cars to compete. To keep the perceived disparity in performance between modified and standard cars to a minimum, performance modifications have been kept to a minimum. Cars modified to the maximum allowed in the rules will easily comply with the current MotorSport New Zealand Schedule T&C category 2. They will, therefore, be able to compete in races outside this series but within a race meeting catering only for classic cars.

Rules and Regulations
1 Registration:
All drivers must be registered to compete in the series. The registration fee will be $10 per season. Drivers can join the series at any time. The chief organiser/ers will collect the fees and organise the list of competing drivers. The collected registration fees will be used to cover costs of mailing etc that are likely to occur during the course of the season.
2 Competition rules:
It is the intention of the organisers to have dedicated races for this class of car. Each meeting will have a minimum of 2 races. The first will be a scratch race and grid positions will be assigned according to each drivers fastest lap times during the mandatory practise session. The second will be a handicap race based on the fastest lap times achieved during the first race. The handicap positions will be calculated and assigned by the chief organisers. If necessary the chief organisers, at the request of the competing registered drivers, may grid the first race in two groups . The first group will be modified cars and the second group will be unmodified cars. At the start of the scratch race the first flag fall will be for modified cars and 2 seconds later a second flag fall will start the un-modified group who throughout the first 2 seconds will have remained stationary at the rear of the grid. Unmodified cars that register a faster lap time than modified cars will still start at the front of the second group.
Points will be awarded for the following placings:
First 10, Second 9, Third 8 etc
In addition points will be awarded for the following:
Driving the car from home to the circuit: 1 point.
Entering a race meeting: 1 point.
At the end of the season points will be tallied for each competitor. The only points counted will be the highest each person registers at the number of meetings calculated as one less than the total number of race meetings for the season.
